What is Free Play Friday. Well it’s a weekly article on free games out there in the world. The game could be casual flash games to Free 2 Play MMOs to free downloads. The only condition is you must be able to play the whole game without spending a cent to do so. So enjoy this weeks Free Game. This week's game is a Action RPG Flash game called Arcuz : Behind the Dark. This game is much like Secret of Mana as you run around and attack things as you see them. Its very well done and surprised me that all of this was done in flash.
The story is very simple you are a young man living in a far off village. All around the village the animals are acting strangely and are attacking the villagers. You being a brave hero start off your adventure trying to figure out whats going on. You start to learn that demons are taking over the world and its your job as the hero to put a stop to them.
The game is very smooth you run around and attack in real time, much like Zelda. As you level up you will learn more abilities and skills to help you kill the creatures. You have a choice of weapons and armor and both are upgrade throughout the game. Some upgrades come from the in game enchanting system, where you combine gems together to create more powerful items. The world is broken up into little areas and zones. Each zone has its own difficulty and certain monsters. There usually was a mini-boss for each zone. Killing it often leads to much rewards. Upon leveling up you get to set skill points into new abilities and magic powers as well as changing your character's ability scores. This game doesn't lack from choices either unless you play the game for a long time you will have plenty of choices to make. Also once you beat the single player game feel free to hope into the multiplayer arena and pit your skills against other players.
Graphics are pretty good for the amount of stuff going on in this game. Arcuz does top the chart with its style and looks. They really took there time to create a world that all fits together. My biggest complaint is sometimes the quest text is hard to read. Its transparent and if the background is a little busy its covers the text up. Its not that back as you can just move around to read the parts you can't see.
All in all I really enjoy this game. Its easy to see why its so popular as it has everything in it for action RPG fans. It’s a quick paced game that requires watching everything and has just enough elements on the RPG side. Also its constantly updated, you can now play it in 8 different languages and since the beginning the multiplayer arenas have been added on.
