Hi-Rez Studios has been busy making a MMOFPS call Global Agenda, Ok maybe not MMOFPS more like normal FPS multiplayer in an ever changing world in which your actions help shape the world. Some of the battles take place on a map in 12 on 12 action for resources and to control a piece of the world map. Other battles are player-vs-environment (PvE), Where you and 3 of your mates fight against the Commonwealth, an oppressive one-world government of the 22nd Century. Don't worry no matter how you want to play the game you will earn experience points, in-game credits, achievements, upgrades and loot through either player-vs-player (PvP) or player-vs-environment (PvE) missions.

The Gameplay is awesome. It’s a fast pace FPS. The maps that I've seen so far are impressive and I hope a ton of maps come out for the game over time. So far there are your normal game modes. A Capture the Robot where you need to grab and escort a robot NPC back to you base. Assault /Defend push map, where the attacking team need to push the object forward. Finally a control point / ticket match. Basically you capture and hold control points to earn tickets first team to get a certain amount of tickets win. One hopes they continue to add to the game and make an objective mode where you need all the games classes to complete. I got a chance to play the game at GameX.  My real issue with playing the game are some control issues. Jetpacks are a selectable item like your gun so no flying and shooting at the same time. Not sure why this is as everything uses energy and using both at the same time would drain that energy very quickly I would think it would be balanced. Also grenades also are not right. They don't work like a weapon more like a power/attack you would expect in a RPG. You hit the button and it throws it. Hard to aim though I'm sure with a new button mapping this won't be too bad. The good news is no grenade spaming as it does have a cooldown before you can throw another one.

Hi-Rez Studios recently announced 2 different payment plans for Global Agenda. There is a one time fee and you can play the game like any other standard FPS out there, which does include the PvP and PvE missions. Or opt for a subscription plan and play the game in an ever changing world. Also you will gain resources for your clan or agency which will allow you to upgrade your weapons and items. This also includes base raids on other agencies which could be 60 vs 60. I think Hi-Rez Studios has the right idea in making two different payment options. This opens the game up to many more players. And for those who only buy the game don't worry you can add a subscription later and I also assume if you cancel the subscription you can still play the game without the subscription options.

The game is slated to come out at the end of 2009, which is only a few months away, with no set release date announced. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it really comes out Q1 2010.
