This game needs more people playing and it’s a shame cause its well worth playing! TimeGate Studios isn't big, so the advertising for the game was small. Hopefully in time it will catch on and it will gather the people needed to make this game succeed. My biggest complaint so far is lack of server support. Granted the game is new and they need time to fix some of the server issues. Lets hope they get that sorted out sooner or later cause servers make or breaks a multiplayer game.

Section 8 is a futurist First Person Shooter (FPS). Being a standard multiplayer game neither side has an advantage due to weapons or armor. But each side does has its own unique looks. In the game you have load outs which is much like classes but Section 8 doesn't limit you to set classes. You can freely edit a layout and mix and match abilities to find a load out that works well for you. Another difference about Section 8 is the spawn system. You get dropped out of a ship and do a cool skydive onto the battlefield. You don't have any restrictions on where you spawn but I wouldn't want to spawn into an area that’s covered with anti-air guns. Don't worry they are marked on the map the area the AA guns cover. For those who get the system it means no spawn camping! It also means that damn camper, excuse me sniper, who just killed you isn't totally safe as you drop out of the sky behind him and knife him in the back. Now lets say you dropped down on the map but needed to get to the other side. Well I guess you could die and respawn there or you could just hold down the sprint key and after a while you enter over-boost mode. In this mode the camera switches to 3rd person and you run very fast it even makes a sonic boom type sound. As I said this make traveling very nice. This tied in with a jetpack makes movement in this game very fun and quick. I wish the jetpack would give a longer boost before it needs to recharge but what you have now is very functional. Finally what would a capture the control point game be without deployables. This game gives you your standard selection. A mini-gun turret, a rocket turret and an AA Turret. You can also call down a supply station and a radar dish. As you fight you get resource points and you can use these resource points to call in the deployables. The last 2 items you can call in are a heavy armor suit and a tank. The heavy armor is okay if you are defending in a area with a lot of obstacles it can survive for quite a while but if you get caught out in the open be careful you don't maneuver as well as on foot. The tank is what you expect except, it can seat 4 people and each of them have a weapon that they can control. A fully loaded tank with a good driver can easily control the battlefield.

If you watched my Section 8 Video you already know how Section 8 plays. For those who haven't well its your normal control point type of game with a twist. Throughout the game dynamic missions will start. While you still need to control the bases, completing the dynamic missions will helps your team greatly. Most missions when completed give your teams extra benefits. The type of missions differ, you could be escorting a VIP on the battlefield to a base. This missions is rather simple just keep the guy alive. If you manage to keep him alive he will help you out with defending the based he was escorted to. Commando mission, much like the escort mission except to protect the VIP to an enemy base. Once he is there you will instantly take over the base. He will then stay around and help the team. Steal the enemies intelligence. Pretty basic the Intel will spawn someplace in an enemy base and you need to take it back to yours. While holding the Intel you can not over-boost. If you manage to download the intel you will be shown all of the enemies positions on the map. Plant a bomb in an enemy base. Grab the bomb and plant and defend the bomb in an enemy base. Doing do will take out all turrets located at that base. Convoy, a convoy will spawn around the edge of the map someplace you need to drive the convoy to a friendly base. This is a slow moving vehicle but it does have some weapons. The driver can control a missile launcher and a passenger controls the mortars. Once the convoy is delivered you get to keep the vehicle and use it how ever you wish. Outpost mission, a beacon is place someplace on the map you need to activate it and a small outpost building will be airdropped to the location. Once the outpost is dropped you need to defend it for a short time. If everything goes well you keep the outpost which helps with the points to win the match.

I do recommend this game, its multiplayer is a blast to play and with some help from the developers this game can last a long time. So if this game is your cup of tea please go out and grab yourself a copy. If you are a PC gamer check out Pure Gamer's Section 8 server.
