One Word…. WOW! Just picked up the game today. I know behind the times Batman out for a while. Still this game is worth talking about. Ok I'm not a Batman fanboy by any means but I love the game. I can see why its getting all the great reviews. Not being a fanboy getting the background of the characters in the bio section is pretty nice. I love the combat in fact I have a feeling the next developer who makes an action game has some pretty high standards to match now. The animations are just awesome. Switching from enemy to enemy is always fluid and smooth. It like watching the Batman movies but I have full control. Coming off a 4 hour session I just want to go back to playing it even more, be damned any human tendencies I have to take care of, they can wait. Well ok some of them can't wait but neither can this game.
Not sure how far I am into the game but I have to say I love the sneaky parts when you need to take out the armed gunmen without being noticed. You can do this in many ways and how you would want to do them. Remember patience is the key to these sections and it can be very rewarding as well. Boss battles are nice as well. I like how you have to fight them smartly. I'm glad they didn't have Batman just charge into the fight and just brute force the boss down. It makes it feel like Batman when you have use your brains in the fight to outsmart the bad guys.
That being said I do have some complaints there are small and really nothing to prevent a good time with the game. The walking camera mode to me is irksome. It works but I just had how I have to control the camera to see around me on the left side. Not sure how it could be made better though. Also I love the detective mode view its great but makes me wonder why Batman even wants to see normally. Not being limited by use of the detective mode one just leaves it on all the time so you can see things not normally viewed. I think the game would be better served if detective mode was limited in some fashion. Again neither of these items are game breaking and wouldn't stop me from telling everyone I know to go out and but this game ASAP.
Ok so what are you doing reading this? Go buy the game! If you already own the game then go play it again!
